The Makita cut out saw has earned its spot in my tool chest, for cutting a specific depth in materials like drywall or paneling it is much better than a saws all or multi tool. That being said then the blades that this tool utilizes must be sharp and last long, and they do. The main trouble with cutting out sheet rock along a stud is all the screws that the blades runs into, which shorten their life considerably. The blades work well but are pricey. So until the price becomes reasonable I will only use this blade and tool occasionally because it is much more cost effective to use another tool when the risk of cutting wire is low.
