  • Good product but configuration change

I replaced an old HT100 this newer unit. I like the unit; however, it was nowhere noted that the plumbing configuration has changed. I actually had to hire a plumber to install it which of course added to the cost (erased the cost savings I achieved by buying this open box unit). This unit is intended to be installed on the opposite wall compared to my old unit; all of the lines had to be extended for it to fit.

  • Beautiful design, but it comes at a price.

The HT-300 is larger then our last Franke Little Butler hot water heater. The original one only lasted 12 years before quitting. We had an In-Sink-Erator hot water dispenser in our old house that was still working after 20 years. We selected the Franke instant hot water system because the faucet pretty well matched our Kohler kitchen faucet, only in a smaller version. We'll see how long this instant hot water heater lasts and if it fails early, we'll probably go back to an In-Sink-Erator system. Franke high prices probably reflect the upscale style and design more then longevity in performance.

  • Excellent Quality Water Heater

Excellent quality instant hot water dispenser heater. Should last a very long time. I do recommend buying an inline filter to keep bits of stuff out of the heater. Inside the heater, there is a small orifice that the incoming water must pass through before getting to the heating chamber. Mine plugged up immediately upon installation, and I removed, disassembled the unit and found the clog in the orifice. No doubt that it came from the water line. If this ever happens to your unit, be sure to take a lot of pics as you disassemble the heater.

  • If mine is representative of their quality would recommend by another brand from a different seller

Installed it everything worked for an hour before leaking water. Because it did not install it right away the seller has not offered to take it back.

  • Defective, wasted money and time.

Item leaked when installed- defective. Plumber questioned whether it was new because there was gunk on the threads on top.
