Everything fit very well. The motor did take a little extra work for a clean look, but not a lot. The canopy fit great & is nice & clear w/ good frame lines for masking. I was able to keep & use the sliding function on this one. Usually with this type of canopy the fit is not that great & I end up gluing them shut to avoid gaps from showing. This one closed like it should w/ minimal fitting... No visible gaps. Everything came sealed on my kit, including the decals, but they were toast. Not surprised from an 1986 kit. There's one nicely detailed pilot figure in a seated position. I just wish I was a better painter. Also, this kit was designed to build w/ gear up or down. And finally, I didn't try to use the hardware on the wings, so I can't comment on how well they fold up & down. I just glued them in a down position. I hope this review was helpful.Read full review

at 1/48 scale the model is big enough for older or younger hands to work on. However, the smaller decals are almost invisible to the naked eye, and can be ignored since they would also be invisible to a viewer against the darkish blue of the upper half, and even the lighter (sky tone) lower half. Also I tried the full landing gear option only to break one strut; then a light went on and I realized how amazing the "in flight" option looks, with the main wheels tucked into the fuselage. I suggest dispensing with the main wing folding option as well, if you want to save time and frustration. A purist will probably ignore these suggestions, but had better be prepared to put in a lot of hours.

First wrong model. It is the 1/32 Revell 1/32 F4F Wildcat. This is an old kit. The cover for folding wings doesn't line up. So, the plastic breaks and needs a stronger pin. Cockpit and landing good for the age. Engine is a old style.

I originally bought this as a "parts" kit. It's worked out great (although the parts are somewhat brittle). Made it possible to detail my "good" kit better, and correct a couple inaccuracies in the original kit. I am converting original F4F4 into FM-2. I'm very satisfied with what I got.

Great. It was actually 1/32 scale as I suspected, but a very reasonable price for what I got!

For me it is a nice kit. A lot of fun.
