While you can make your own "rescue" system to help unfortunate creatures who fall into your pool, I tip my hat to the maker behind this, for caring. It does work, {saw proof with my own eyes}, but the small bag that "weights" the "ladder" is pretty light-weight, and easily blown away by wind. I had to put a large brick on it to keep it in place during our rainy season. Otherwise, a thrifty, nice little pad to help climb out of the water, although most hop back in eventually anyway. I think it will not solve frog invasions in pool, but if a small creature happens to fall in, or you have 2 or more breeds of frogs and tadpoles, it gives sanctuary to keep smaller frogs from being devoured by cannibalistic tadpoles. :)

You need about 4 of these for the average size backyard pool, per the instructions. And then the little froggies have to find them, of course. I found a dead frog floating about 6 feet from the only one I bought. I mean, it is logical that you would have to pretty much frame your pool in these to make them work, but it is cute.

I purchased 3 of these and installed them around the pool. I have twice seen a frog sitting on it and once saw him hop off and out of the pool. Sorry I didn't have my camera with me! I have not had a single dead critter of any type since installing them so I have to assume that they are doing their job perfectly. I didn't have sand but filled mine with small pebbles and its working well. I previously used a different type of product that was a net hanging vertically into the pool. That did NOT work well. I haven't seen the frog use the ramp but its a short hop off the flat blue part to the top of the pool. I'm thrilled with these and highly recommend them.

It's a little magical since you never actually see a critter use it. However, I can say with absolute certainty that since we started using these, we hardly ever have frogs in the pool or in the skimmer (fewer mice too). Before using one, there would be at least 1 or 2 just about every time we checked. We're planning on putting a second one on the other side of the pool. They last a few years before the sun destroys them (ours is in the sun 12 hours a day). Plus it's a fun conversation piece! I recommend it.

This product could not be easier to use and very well designed. I use to have to remove dead frogs from my skimmer. I have not seen any frogs in the skimmer since I installed this item therefore I assume it works.

Since the day I installed my Frog Logs, we haven't had to scoop out any dead animals. I know some people don't mind finding a dead mouse, mole or chipmunk floating in their pool, but I think it's gross (not to mention, sad). The only thing I want in my pool is friends, family and me! Just make sure to buy enough of them to get proper coverage. Happy summer!

Had a medium size turtle in the pool that could not escape. Had to give extra weight (concrete paver) to hold it more securely- he pulled the ‘bridge’ down initially.

Easy to use and clean, most importantly, Froglog Critter Saver has lived up to it's name and saved several critters that had the misfortune to fall in my pool. The best was the little Chipmunk. I know he was really grateful for the Critter Saver. Thank you!

Great product! I wanted something to keep wildlife from drowning in my pool. Most of the products on the market are bulky and expensive, designed to let your golden retriever back out of the pool (I have steps in the pool for that). I just was tired of fishing dead mice and the occaisional dead opossum out of my pool and needed something smaller. This is perfect! Lightweight, inobstrusive, inexpensive and no more dead wildlife since I put it in!

Have had this in my pool for about a week. We live on a pond in a rural setting and formerly I would find frogs and toads (living and dead) in the pool on an almost daily basis, and usually more than one. Since placing the frog log, I have seen none, I am also seeing fewer water surface clinging insects that used to be abundant. Well designed and constructed, and working like a charm so far.
