Battery capacity not as stated but still good for the price

These batteries stated 6.0Ah however it is not. I opened it up to check and found that the batteries says: EVE ICR18650/20P, 2.0Ah, 7.2Wh per cell x2=4. 0Ah in parallels x5 in series which makes 18v 4.0Ah battery pack and this is Chinese brand name batteries. The EVE name on the batteries was erased by the manufacturer for some purpose which I don't know why but I still be able to find out. I tested them few times with deep Charges/Discharges cycles and I only can charged them up as much as 3.8Ah but for normal use I only can expect to get around 3.7Ah maximum. Measured the cell's internal resistance and it says around: 7.5mini Ohms per cell / 2=15mini Ohms per individual cell. The battery advertised it has full protection which includes short circuit protection but it is not as I short the circuit a few times with a 20AWG wire and it just melted and breaks the wire but no protection took place and the battery still working normally. I didn't test other protections as I don't have time so I leave as it. For the Charge testing, I used the genuine Makita battery charger DC18RD to charge them up and these batteries can only charged up to 4.04v per cell while my other genuine Makita batteries could reached to 4.10v per cell as expected. Therefore I can't get the maximum capacity out of it so I tried to charge it up using my CALIBRATED TURNIGY multifunction battery charger, set it to charge Li Ion and it could charged up to 4.11v per cell which I am really happy with although I can charged it up to 4.2v per cell with this charger but I don't as for the life cycles of the batteries. Now just wait to see how long these batteries will last and only time will tell. This review is unorganized and not professional as I write whatever things pop ups in my head so it may missing something that you wanted to know so please excuse me.

Rubbish Battery failed on 2nd charge.

See photos below. My explanation is there. This is also misleading advertising as the battery has a star stamped on the casing in the advertised product but is not there on the product i received. The star means it has battery protection circuit built in.

  • Makita 6.0 battery

Battery runs out of charge very fast very fast, I used mine in a makita instant coffee machine and I get 1 coffee I have a 4 amp original Battery and get 3 coffees. So it's really not any good for my application.

  • Makita replacement 6 ah battery

Had for a few weeks works well happy as with it. Give the tools plenty of power compared to 3ah battery. Good price if it last a few years.

  • Makita battery replacement

Affordable product I use daily. As a tradie I need reliable batteries to use in my makita power tools. These batteries power angle grinders, circular saws and hammer drills. They last and stand the test of time. I highly recommend these non genuine batteries.

  • great purchase

I tried another supplier batteries claiming to be 6 Ah which turned out to closer to 2Ah. These batteries performed as good as the genuine Makita batteries i got with my mower. So far cannot fault them
