If you plan on replacing your CMOS battery, buy the Tadiran batteries that come with soldering tabs.
Bought this to replace a CMOS battery in my ancient 80286 computer. I thought I could solder it in place. Big mistake! The battery terminals act as heat sinks and you cannot solder anything to the terminals, and if you keep trying, you will just heat up the battery and risk the chance of an explosion or fire. Not the fault of the vendor, as I was unaware of the issue. Therefore, if you plan on soldering anything in place, buy the batteries with pre-welded tabs instead.
