This looks like it's going to be flimsy and the sort of tool you use once and then put away never to see the light of day again. In reality it's sturdier than it looks and a good piece of design. Open the catch on the back, insert the cable to the required length, close the sides together, twist and pull and the insulation comes away cleanly. There are a couple of ports in the end for stripping the insulation off of conductor ends, one for 15mm and one for 25mm, though you can easily adapt these to strip off the amount you need. My only gripe is the little plastic depth stop for stripping the core insulation. It slides in and out but if you're not careful it's easy to slide it out a bit too far and drop it. Fortunately I found it but on some sites ............... It's a lightweight tool that weighs only an ounce or so (few grams if you're modern) so it's easy to slip in your pocket and you'll not notice you've got it, but it's a handy little tool when you need it. I've only used it on round cables but I guess you could probably get it to work on a flat cable too. Now I've got one I wouldn't want to be without it.Read full review
