Bought this to replace a condenser mic for our violinist at church because it was so hard to try and filter out all of the ambient noise. Very easy to install and worked great as soon as it was plugged in. We had a pre-amp ready, but went straight from the pickup to a direct box and it worked great that way. A perfect solution to our problem!

it works wonderful and has great sound and is sold for a good price but a little complicated to install. i had to look up pics on the web to see how it looks installed to know how to install it. it also dampens the sound of the violin when installed on the violin even though it doesnt affect the sound from speakers but when playing without speakers it has a different and dampened sound, so each time i use my violin i have to take off the pickup and it has screws so each time its a little hard and on the other hand you can get pickups which have a little metal chip which you stick in the bridge and they dont affect the sound at all and are easy to install and uninstal.l why dont barcus berry make those.

Works very well, although there is some muting of the instrument do to being clamped to the bridge. Provides much better tone if pre-amped.

This piezo pickup was very easy to install. Our Yamaha acoustic violin sounds great with it. Since it clamps on to the bridge instead of being embedded into the bridge it can be pretty sensitive at times.

Best Violin Pickup I have ever had. Sounds very true to the actual sound of the violin. Easy to put on and take off in minutes. It does need to be plugged into some kind of pedal or preamp to match the impedance with most mixer inputs..

I just love this pickup! I set it up on a cheaper violin and it sounds really good! It was really simple to set up! Super nice! I would recommend it!

Easy installation and unobtrusive. Darkens tone a bit, but I personally like the mellower sound. I actually added a small mute to the high side of the bridge to further mellow the instrument.

Haven't tried it through a pre-amp yet. Little heavy on the g string but pretty good otherwise.. Easy to switch to another violin if necessary.
