Snark - a famous brand and a famous caveat emptor
These are a well known name in music industry, HOWEVER just as famous as the name "Snark", they are also known famously to break - at the clip level. Some musicians have had multiple break. Please keep this in mind. They need to revise the part that breaks on the clip. When they do, this will be one of the best tuners. Please make better clips or have a warranty on them. Just ok - spend a little more and get a better one
I like to tune A to 432 hz and this device will do that but it doesn't hold memory so each time I want to tune I have to reset the hertz first. It's a small thing but really annoying. Best guitar tuner yet...
Firstly, the quality is superb. There are two main types of tuner,ones with an internal microphone they are difficult to use and adversely affected by background noise. The Snark on the other hand uses a piezo sensor and picks up the vibrations from the guitar head and so is not affected by external noise. Very good tuner for the money
My tuner arrived without a battery which I thought it would have but that was no problem. After fitting a battery I found this is a very good product. It has a range from A=430 to 450.but as everyone I know uses 440 it would be nice if it defaulted to 440 when switching on, so be careful if you have been using other tuning. It will switch on with that setting. It times out after 5 minutes or so if it sees no vibration so unless you turn it off you would have to take it off the guitar which I guess is the same for all types. I find if you leave it on the guitar and play a major chord it will tell you what the chord is (which you know anyway) But that could be useful to some. It clips on the guitar easily and twists round so it is easily read. The needle centalizes and turn green when the tuning is right. It can be used for any instrument provided you know what the strings are meant to be tuned to. I can not fault it so I recomend it to anyone interested.The user guide is like all user guides, very small printing and not too informative but it's not rocket surgery to work out.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Thumb/Finger grip angled wrong. Unit easily slips out of one's grip. Also one rubber pad slipped off in the first day and had to be glue back in place
