This is a very well made truing stand that is built to be mounted or clamped to a table. Although it does not have a fancy caliper style truing indicator for both sides of the rim, it has an easily moveable indicator that is designed to show vertical and horizontal out of roundness at the same time (on one side of the rim). I found that I could use this stand for through axle hubs as well as quick release hubs.
I have owned a Park Professional Truing Stand (lost it in the divorce!) and unfortunately can make a comparison. This stand will do the job if you intend on building a wheel now and then. The main problem is that the stand is flimsy and flexes easily, even when bolted to a work table. I'm keeping it because I'm building a wheel set and will do truing when needed. It's better than an upside-down bicycle at least. One suggestion I have for owners and for Park Tool is to use a thumb screw on the sliding wheel positioning guide instead of a set screw that requires a screwdriver. 1/4 - 20 x 3/4 size, see pic. The wheels will turn out nice at least. Happy riding!
