Gates website says that to read the belt tension, you are to put the Krikit tool over the belt, one finger under the rubber sleeve, then push down until it clicks. A little lever then pops up to the left of your finger and you're told to read the scale of tension, with line A intersecting with B. Line A is the slope of the little blue lever but there's nothing indicating exactly where Line B is supposed to be. The tool is just not worth the $$$. Would not recommend buying it.
