Seriously, how does one rate guitar picks? While actual pick thickness (or stiffness) is a matter of personal preference, what I like about the tortex is their texture. Like very very fine sandpaper vs. the polished plastic picks you may be more familiar with. I tend to have a better grip on these with less effort and they make a satisfying sound when doing pick slides down the strings. Sweetwater has a pretty darn good deal on a 12-pack and the shipping was exceptionally fast.

I've always gone in music stores and bought whatever thin picks were sitting up front while waiting to check out. Didn't think it really mattered much. But, these feel so good to play. My new favorite pick.

I find that the thickness of the pick has a direct effect on the brightness of tone. The thinner the brighter. This falls somewhere in the middle. Works well for me

My favorite pick of all time. Not too hard and not to soft. Goldilocks would approve. It seems ebay is a great place to pick these up cheap.

These are nice firm picks. A nice compromise -- especially if you are just learning to go from a soft pic to the much harder pics so many lead players like.
