Real Cymbal Feel Without the Volume Zildjian L80 Low Volume cymbals are real cymbals that play at reduced volume — up to 80% less volume, thanks to a unique perforated pattern. That means you can play them exactly how you play any other cymbal, using any stick, mallet, or technique. The full decay is there, and they respond to your every playing nuance. Many Sweetwater drummers use L80 Low Volume cymbals with their acoustic kits for reduced volume in pit work or worship bands. And of course, they're the obvious solution for quiet rehearsals and late-night practice at home. Get real cymbal feel and sound at reduced volume, with L80 Low Volume cymbals.

  • Quiet and a good value.

These are great for practicing at the house without driving my family crazy. I got this whole set used for less than the price of a new good crash cymbal, so I think the value is there. They might be almost too quiet for some. I put a 12" Zildjian spiral stacker on top of the crash to liven it just a bit more. I've seen drummers use these low volume cymbals creatively in stacks, so that's an option besides just the low volume benefits. Overall I like them and have no regrets on my purchase.

  • Great technology in a cymbal

Zildjian manufactures the best cymbals in the world. These cymbals provide that real feel that cymbal mutes lack. Their noise-reducing technology gives the drummer a great practice cymbal made with Zildjian quality. They are a great product to keep drummers and their neighbors happy. Another cutting-edge solution to the volume problems that drummers can face.

  • Zildjian's L80 series of low volume cymbals are an absolute joy to play.

Zildjian's L80 series of low volume cymbals are an absolute joy to play. Typically, us drummers have been left to using Roland or other brand rubber cymbals or other electronic solutions so we can practice at home without bothering the neighbors. Now, with the L80's, roughly 80% of the volume from a "normal" cymbal has been removed - but what's been kept is the FEEL of the cymbal, which is so important for technique and proper practice. These cymbals are great to practice on without bothering my neighbors or roommates, and I'm able to quickly adapt when I'm on my regular cymbals, unlike after using rubber cymbal pads. Thanks Zildjian!

  • Great Cymbals for Playing Quietly

First tried these cymbals on a hybrid kit at my local music store. They had them paired with overhead mics and a Roland TM-6, and the two together sounded fantastic. I was looking to put together a home practice kit so I ordered this set based on my experience at the store and couldn't be more pleased. Paired with a kit that's equipped with Remo Silentstroke heads, I can play at nearly all hours without bothering anyone. Fantastic product for that purpose.

  • My students love them

I still wear ear protection around them, but unlike with regular cymbals, with ear protection these LV's don't harm your hearing a bit.

  • quiet, but expensive

They are quieter, but do feel spongy or light when you hit them. Price is relatively high, as material seems to be painted, not the usual Zildjian alloys. I bought demo models so saved some money.
