Very useful if you want a quick clean with good results
We wanted to try a stick vaccuum cleaner for small jobs. Sometimes you don't want to unpack and assemble the big vaccuum cleaner.
This little Bosch does the job admirably. Assembly is intuitive, which is lucky because the only instructions are in pictures. The first charge took a long time, but that is to be expected. It stands up on its own and needs a power point within 1.5 metres for the charger.
A sliding switch on the handle gives you three speeds: Low; Low with the rotating brush in the vaccuum head; and High with rotation brush. Low is sufficient for hard floors, while the middle setting is good for carpets. The high setting seems like overkill but it's nice to have.
Bosch claim (up to) 60 minutes run time. We haven't tested that but the performance is certainly adequate for the small jobs that it is intended for. At nearly 3kg in weight it is not the lightest but most people won't have any trouble with it. If you are elderly or have a damaged arm you might want to try a lighter machine, as there are many to choose from.
The dust canister is only 1 litre or so, but for small jobs, that is sufficient. It is easily emptied. Bosch claim that you can wash the filter, but I certainly wouldn't. Washing vaccuum filters always results in clogging and reduced life.
All in all, this is a good machine for the little jobs it is designed for.
