Had to update a vintage (2007) iMac, and opted for a ‘new’ (2017) iMac. Same 21.5” Retina screen, and 12 month Apple warranty, as current (2019) model. Sure, it has a older, somewhat slower Intel i5 ‘quad-core’ processor, than the current (2019) iMac- but absolutely fine for my normal day-day use, and at an ~30% discount to the 2019 pricing, it represents a minimal compromise for an excellent price.

They are a great computer, purchased the 2017 iMac to replace a 2008 one, they may look similar but the new one does everything so much better, and the screen. Wow, never gave much interest to the 4k retina display but the difference is like watching VHS video to DVD so mush more detail.
