Compact, inexpensive, and arrived quick.
Inexpensive, compact, worked well for watching home videos on my tv, that were on a microSD card. My tv only has a USB jack for external devices. Gets burning hot
I've been using a computer since the early 90s and I've never, out of all the brands and types of products I've used (working with computers on my job), had a product get this hot. Works well. Linux compatible (Debian Jessie). I didn't run benchmarks but appears to have solid 3.0 performance. One star off for the physical construction. The main drawback is that it is hard to get micro sd cards to engage the socket. It usually takes a couple tries and I have almost lost a card inside the case several times. Amazing for its price.
Before buying this I was using cable adapters and consoles to video game consoles(PSP) to transfer files. I didn't expect how much faster using this usb adapter would be though. Perfect for my Use!
A bit worrying to insert a microSD card at the end of the USB stick but all went well without any issues. I used this to flash a new Raspberry Pi image. I plugged in my Windows 10 computer and detected the USB drive with the microSD card I was trying to format. Reliable Connection
The equipment that I was needing to use an SD card reader with would not support the current demands of a non powered USB/SD card hub. So I looked at using a micro SD card reader. The cheap readers are just that cheap and unreliable. Where the Sandisk Micro SD Card reader has performed on demand. Though it does get warm I have not had an issue with this product. As this is my second micro card reader I have purchased to be used in another system. Simple, cheap and effective
This unit is a very inexpensive solution to reading your Micro SD card thru your USB port. It's fast and easy, just pop in the memory card and stuff it into your computer or whatever USB you have. There is nothing on this to not work, and the cost is pretty much indicative of its simplicity and ease of use. It's a no brainer really.
