Way better than standing pilot.
This conversion is fairly simple to do. But FYI: I was embarrassed when, after installing the first unit, and didn't get a spark. I called Honeywell & everything. Finally I called a friend in the industry to come look at it. He simply pushed the "spark wire boot" all the way on. It took more push to "pop" into place than I thought. ,(just like you would an automobile spark plug boot), and the thing worked. I like the dependability of the electronic spark ignition. I have installed several and they have worked flawlessly especially as the application is greenhouse heaters where wind can be an issue. No more "baby-sitting" heaters to relight them ! Honeywell is a trusted name in controls. The "little brother" of this unit, (number ends in 4001,) has 1/2" x 1/2" input / output pipe connections and slightly less BTU flow, works equally well for the heaters I am working with and costs about $15 less. I should have researched a little better before ordering this 6006 as I don't need that much flow and don't need the optional 3/4" input / Output. A reducing bushing,(3/4" down to 1/2" is included in the 6006 so it was no problem installing it.

Instructions a bit weak, a different wiring diagram illustrated is not correct. Unless you do for a living, be careful to wire correctly.
