First I respect DeWalt Tools - I own several of them; but this is my first biscuit Joiner. I've never used one before, but it was easy to use. The adjustments are easy to understand and they are accurate. The motor is quiet and it has plenty of power.

I bought a Freud biscuit joiner about 20 years ago. Used it on many project from furniture to cabinetry. Still works well but my youngest son needed some shelves. We used the Freud for what will probably be the last time. This new DeWalt is superior in every we. The fence is easy to adjust with great accuracy thanks to the built in scales. The folding guide is very convenient. And best of all is the switch. Just squeeze the barrel. DeWalt simply put just got it right!

I purchased this tool used over 15 years ago and am still using the same unit with no issues today. When I bought it, I was mainly curious to try biscuit joinery and was most interested in hinges. It did not take long for me to become a convert. I really value the precision alignment of butt jointed boards that biscuits provide. They are much easier to use than traditional dowels and quite flexible. The only downside to this tool is the dust collection port and bag. The port is an utterly proprietary half inch square arrangement. Attached to a plastic adapter, the bag has a metal wire loop that is needed to keep it open for the dust. Without that, the dust quickly clogs the port. Unfortunately, the wire attaches to the adapter through two slots in the plastic which can, under the wrong circumstances, break. While this is a pain, I must point out that my used machine last over a dozen years before this became a problem.Read full review
