Cable Kit 24' W/Intrpt. Kit Includes Power Interrupt Kit And Dust Cover. Actual appearance of tire or wheel may have slight variations from actual picture (depending on sizes). For Wheel Products: Tire is not included (if the tire is shown).
A very complete kit.
Not only do you get the long power cables to supply a Winch mounted on the rear hitch; you get the added safety of a solenoid disconnect.
Why is this important?
In the event of a wreck your truck won't pinch those long cables and cause a direct short and a fire.
Also, if you attach both your front and rear power supply cables to the included solenoid you can kill power at the flip of a dash mounted switch.
That way you don't have some punk hook your winch cable over the top of your truck to the other bumper and stick a paper clip into the control socket and crush your roof with your own winch cable.
Yes, that has happened.
Don't make it easy for them.
Disconnecting the power at the dash with this kit solves that issue and you can leave your winch on your truck safely just.. make sure you have a hitch pin lock.
The 24 foot length cables were just enough for my 1986 M1009 CUCV to reach from the driver side rear bumper, along the inside of the drivers side frame rail, up the firewall, over the engine, and to the forward battery on the passenger side.
Be aware, short cable that supplies the power from the battery to the isolation cable will dictate where you mount the solenoid.
It is about 12" long.
So the solenoid will be right next to the battery on the fender well or firewall.
The supplied solenoid control wiring was plenty long to reach from the dash next to the heater controls out to the passenger fender well where I mounted the solenoid.
The kit comes with 8 large high quality zip ties to secure the big power supply cables though none were included for the small solenoid control wiring.
The instructions were very thorough and contained a wiring diagram.
Just be aware that the isolation solenoid must have it's own ground to operate; it doesn't ground through it's case.
Happy Winching.
