Following the success of their film debut in 1964 with "A Hard Day's Night", The Beatles returned a year later with their second motion picture, entitled "Help!" By the time the film was released to theaters, the group were already a world-wide phenomenon. "Help!" would also eventually go on to become a major box-office hit, subsequently developing a cult following throughout the years. This deluxe boxed set includes the feature film on a DVD disc, plus a second disc containing rare footage of the band on location with director Richard Lester, theatrical trailers, interviews with crew members and cast co-stars Victor Spinetti and Eleanor Bron, and more. This set also includes an authentic reproduction of the original shooting script complete with hand-written notes, 8 colorful theatrical lobby cards, a folded movie poster, and a 60-page photo book containing stills from the movie. John, Paul, George and Ringo certainly had a great time making this movie with director Lester and producer Walter Shenson. The lads carry the film quite naturally from start to finish. Leo McKern is perfect as Clang, leader of the religious cult who attempts to sacrifice Ringo. Victor Spinetti is brilliant as Foot, along with Roy Kinnear as his assistant Algernon, who plan to take the sacrificial ring for themselves. Eleanor Bron was priveliged to be the Beatles' leading lady as Ahme, who always continues to save the boys from the thuggees. The songs on the soundtrack are superb. The film restoration work by Paul Ruttan and his associates is amazing. Altogether, this is a boxed set that belongs in every Beatles' fan's video library, and a perfect example of filmmaking from the mid-60s.Read full review
Taking a page out of the Paul McCartney Archive series, this Hard back box set is a great tribute to the movie. This should be the standard for all the beatles catalogue ( Magical Mystery Tour is also a good purchase - "One+" is okay, but should be this HUGE size. AHDN - there should be a deluxe version this size. Extras and quality of this make it a must for beatle fans. Hope the Ron Howard Documentary "Eight Days a week" is released in this style!

What a great box set. I have had the movie for years on DVD, but this is beautifully packaged, albeit annoyingly packaged. The DVD book is wrapped in Beatles paper, which is then packaged with the book in it's own box, which is then completely packaged in it's own box. Not much to the DVD, same movie packaged from single DVD release. The extra's make this worth it's weight in gold. If you are into music rooms, studies, similar that you'd decoration with signed instruments, posters, autographs and pictures, this is your DVD package. The cards and posters are nice, and the picture book is great view. The second DVD is worthwhile to the set with a few extra features not previously available. Most have this on sale between $40-$80, this is worth the find. At retail, though, $135, die-hard Beatles fans will find this worth it, but the regular DVD release will suffice just fine for the occasion listener.Read full review
Although not as good a movie as The Beatles' first film "A Hard Day's Night", HELP! is a fun film nonetheless and all the featured songs are Beatles classics. The HELP! Deluxe Box Set is really cool but it wasn't worth the $129.00 plus price tag at the retail stores. I managed to resist buying it at Best Buy until one day I decided to look for it in eBay. I was able to find a deluxe box set for, get this, $30, and with free shipping to-boot. So it was an offer I just couldn't refuse. I am very pleased with this set and if you're a true Beatles fan and/or collector, you can't go wrong with this treat.
This set is truely a dream for any Beatles fan! Not only does it include the Help! movie, but it is remastered and comes with a ton of special features! The giant book in the set has many never-before-seen pictures! Its amazing! It also comes with a large original movie poster and around 8 color photos! It even comes with the script!!! AMAZING!!! I'm extremely happy with this product and I encourage any Beatles fan to purchase this!!!
A home video edition a Beatle fan shouldn't leave without. The movie itself features some of their great song shot in a music video manner. Lots of frameable bonuses too.

For a Beatle's fan such as myself this is a dream package. Beautiful boxed set filled with all sorts of little goodies such as a 60 page book (hardcover), a reproduction of Richard Lester's handwritten notes on the script which is included and two-discs. The transfer is pristine and the best copy of the movie I've seen since I first saw it at the show all those years ago. The second disc has a plethora of items including a "lost" scene with Wendy Richard who went on to become Miss Brahm's on "Are You Being Served". If you are a Beatle's fan you cannot do better than this set. You'll not regret it.
I saw this movie as a small kid (40 years ago) with my big sister who had a huge crush on Paul (or maybe John, George or Ringo). This DVD is absolutely great for anyone who wants to relive the Beatles era or wants to know what all the fuss was about. The music is clear and sounds new again. Absolutely spoofy and goofy story, but from a totally innocent time and well worth the trip down memory lane. I am not sure how newbies might think of the movie, because I think you might have to have seen it once before to appreciate it.
The video looks GREAT! Trouble is, not even great-quality video footage can make a lackluster movie any tolerable. I remember seeing "Help"! years ago on TV and it was so ragged, jagged and boring that I fell asleep halfway thru it, and I LOVE The Beatles. The Music is good, but as John Lennon stated, the Beatles' were indeed 'extras in their own movie'. The whole thing is just silly. Silly and almost stupid. "Magical Mystery Tour", as bad as that was, is a masterpiece compared to "Help!" It just shows how irrelevant the '60s movie community ultimately was when it tried to market the Beatles. I understand the Beatles didn't wanna re-release it for a long time. I wonder how many millions this'll make for good ol' Apple Corps, with the overinflated price of this set. Again, I like the Beatles. But as a collector, I don't like being gouged, especially when the product isn't that good. And "Help!"...is a dog. Arf.Read full review
