NotesAnything But Canned... Spawned by both a shared musical vision and the need to blow off day-job steam, Sweet Jelly is the result of five+ creative years (2000-2006) by five former co-workers. Originally formed as the song-writing brainchild of co-animation artists Aaron Johnson (bass) and Carol Kroll (vocals), Sweet Jelly quickly found it's voice in the contributions of Lance Dobersek and Rob Miller (lead and rhythm guitar, respectively), playing it's first full band show to a capacity crowd on Feb. 7, 2003 in Racine, quickly garnering a local buzz and dedicated fan base. Building upon their growing following with local and regional shows, the band was simultaneously recording it's work in it's basement and professional studios. November of 2005 saw the addition of a new drummer (Anthony Kreft) and the release of the band's debut full-length album, Jelly Happens. Completely self-produced against all odds, SJ's 16 tracks are a testament to the band's diehard, DIY attitude and is enjoying both domestic and international exposure, in addition to internet radio attention, with great support from the band's hometown station WLUM 102.1, and a growing number of online downloads. Maintaining an active live performance schedule, Sweet Jelly is fortunate to receive invitations for performances at some of the region's best venues, having built strong relationships with both club owners and other regional bands. The band continues to write new material and perform consistently, with new recordings continually popping up on their Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) nominated website. In a world where many bands struggle to imitate each other, Sweet Jelly refuses to be intimidated. In a nutshell: • Sweet Jelly is a Milwaukee/Madison based five-some • Pop/rock originals • Action-packed live shows • Consistent performance schedule • Together for 5+ years • New full-length album.
