For those of us that still buy cd's, and specifically classical cd's, this set is a joy. I knew it on vynil in another life, but on this reissue, Kunz's voice sounds fresh and with a creamy tone that endeared him to the post-war world. This set features volumes one and two of University songs, accompanied by the chorus and orchestra of the Vienna State Opera. The production values are very clean and the tunes are well known. I certainly hope more volumes are in the pipeline, as the profoundly moving "Moorsoldaten" (peat-bog soldiers) is on volume 3. Kunz died in 1995 (the same year as bass Gottlob Frick if memory serves me right), and this album (paired with his glorious Papageno under Karajan) is a fitting memento.
