Analogue Productions has done a sterling job with this re-issue of SRV's posthumous final Studio Album. The quality of the 45RPM vinyl records themselves and the Gate Fold sleeve and artwork are truly first rate! Sonic wise, it's as good as it gets for this particular album, though I have to say that it isn't as warm or as punchy in it's production like SRV's earlier offerings like Texas Flood and Couldn't stand the weather, instead sounding a tad flatter and more strident. This owes more to the original recording that the AP pressing itself. If you are an SRV fan and want to get one of the best sounding vinyl versions of this album and don't mind the extra expense and inconvenience of having to change sides every 8 or so minutes, then the Analogue Productions 2 x 45 RPM is worth it.
