About this product

Product Information

Based on the Nurse Matilda series of books by Christianna Brand and adapted for the screen by Emma Thompson. In this dark and witty fable, Emma Thompson portrays a person of unsettling appearance and magical powers who enters the household of the recently widowed Mr. Brown (Colin Firth) and attempts to tame his seven exceedingly ill-behaved children. The children have managed to drive away 17 previous nannies but as Nanny McPhee takes control, they begin to notice that their vile behaviour now leads swiftly and magically to rather startling consequences.

    A great family movie for young and old.

    We bought this for the grandchildren to view when they're staying. This is a great family movie about a widower (played by Colin Firth) with 7 very clever but very unruly children who scare away all the nannies employed to look after them. Then along comes Nanny McPhee (Emma Thompson) with her mystical powers and rules on how to behave. Children and adults love the movie and there are lots of laughs and lessons to be learned.
