The authors have provided a comprehensive and detailed study of considerations to be made if one wishes to build a Passive House. Passive house building is well established in northern hemisphere countries but still very much in its infancy in Australia where this book is published. I am into the fourth chapter which has Hot Water as its focus. Other chapters are devoted to Healthy Homes, Thermal Envelope, Fresh Air Delivery, Heating and Cooling, Lighting, Appliances, Toolbox (for designing & quality assurance), Energy Generation & Storage, Certification (for Passive House listing) and Positive Energy Living. Much research data and supporting evidence has been gathered by the authors to provide a very convincing basis for proceeding along the path of building a Passive House. There are numerous drawings, photos, graphs, diagrams, etc. to aid comprehension of what is a rather technical book at times. I would highly recommend this book to anyone considering building a home in the future (my purpose in purchasing it) even if it meant not incorporating all of the considerations covered.Read full review
