Your Max Smart can even tell your kids a story to keep them occupied while you cook dinner or pay bills. Make cleaning go by faster by streaming your favorite songs while you dust. With a built-in high excursion speaker, the Google Home assistant gives you superior sound and access to your Google Play playlists along with your favorite stations on iHeartRadio or Pandora, and you can simply tell your Max Smart exactly what you want to hear and it begins playing instantly. Connect your Google Home assistant to your Chromecast and you've got a complete entertainment system at your fingertips. Tell your Max Smart exactly what you want to watch, and soon you'll be streaming your favorite shows or movies without even picking up the remote control. You can also access your photos and share them via your TV's display, or put on some music videos and dance the day away. Pricey but solid

Great alternative to Sonos and if you’ve bought into google home ecosystem - this is their high end speaker. Cool feature - there is Aux input so you can hook up a record player - but then that can stream to all google speakers /chromecast products. So basically can play vinyl on whole home audio setup via google home app.

  • Top critical review

Google failed because it setup these speakers to use only half the speaker drivers and amps when you place them on end - inquiries get no reply

Pros- decent sound quality - could be better though. Cons - biggest con for me is that Google designed these speakers to use only half the speakers and amplifiers when you pair two speakers in stereo mode - a BIG fail in my opinion - I bought two speakers to have the ability to fill the room with quality sound at a higher volume. More speakers = more air moved = more volume without losing clarity, and more amplifiers = louder volume without distortion. What good reason would Google have to cancel two speakers and their amplifiers when you place the unit on it's end - whether you listen to it on it's end or flat all the speakers should work!

  • Good speaker

This is a great product at a great price, although it would have been nice that the description stated this was a Canadian version and not American. The only reason I state is because upon setup, it mentioned this and that it may not be compatible with some WiFi networks and some features not be accessible. I don't think I've faced any issues, although Roku doesn't integrate properly, but otherwise it's a great speaker and a great value.

  • This speaker is amazing

The Google home max is a truly premium product. The sound quality is really nice, not quite as refined as the Sonos One but it's still impressive. The sound fills a large room easily and there's no distortion at high volume. The smart functionality works as it should, this is why I chose this over the Sonos One, as the smart assistant feature on that speaker is terrible - no problems with this one though. Such a shame that it's been discontinued, this is a great product and miles ahead of their other speakers

  • Great sound!

Bought used but i dont have to break in the speakers. They sound great indoors and outdoors. Love the bluetooth feature to pair a smartphone.

  • It's no Klipsch, Polk, or Bose for audiophiles, but it's certainly the most powerful Google Smart Speaker

I've owned and extensively used the Google Mini (their small puck speaker), Google Home (their standard speaker), and now the Google Max (currently Google's largest smart speaker). I'd say the Google Max is definitely the best of the bunch-- primarily because of volume and therefore usefulness in larger rooms. But there is still a distinct muddiness to the sound, and that's what keeps this speaker from being "excellent." Also, this speaker is relatively expensive for what it is, and what it does. I likely would not buy another, but would instead buy four Google Home speakers for the price.

  • Great Smart Speaker

I was sceptical but was pleasantly surprised with the sound. It doesn't quite match the sound from the receiver and HiFi speakers it replaced but it is more than adequate and takes up way less space, eliminates the wires and adds the Google Home features. Now my office has the HiFi so I'm good.

  • Good sound but still needs some work

The speaker produces good to great sounds. But I not completely happy with the Google "Home" application for my Google Pixel 3A phone (the problem could possible be an issue with the speaker). From time to time the speaker doesn't show up on the "Home" application. Some times I have to power cycle the speaker to get it to appear on the "Home" application.

  • Plenty loud but not the sound quality I was looking for...

The Google Max out of box setup is straight forward and easy. The product quality seems good regarding fit and finish. Where Google Max fell short for me was sound quality. Exactly what I mean: Although plenty loud the sound was not rich and seems harsh. I know these are subjective terms. I adjusted speaker location ad the Google Home App EQ settings and never could find a setting that appealed to me.
