In the bag of any pro photographer you'll find a 70-200 f2.8, and for Canon mount cameras there are really only three choices out there. The official Canon version is obviously the best, but it costs over two grand! The other two are this Tamron and the Sigma versions, both if which are around half the cost of the Canon and are both very good. However I would rate the Tamron 70-200 higher then the Sigma due to its superior build and optical quality. It actually comes very close to the Canon in many ways. If I had to criticize it in one area it would be that the autofocus speed isn't quite as fast as I'd like (although it is very accurate), but for the cost of the lens in relation to the Canon, it's a small gripe. Overall I highly recommend this awesome piece of glass!

I’m really happy with this lens so far, great value for money, sharp images and smooth auto focus. You’ve won me over Tamron!

Speedy focus and sharp images makes this lens a budget option to the canon. The only downside to it is the weight. It is pretty heavy. However, thrilled to have it in my arsenal of lenses!
