NotesAlways innovative and admired by generations of electro-pop musicians, this 1984 recording is post-disco Sparks, as they let loose on high tech synths, moving their quirky and entrancing songs into the electronic pop arena. Includes 5 bonus extended mixes.
Sparks is not for everyone, which is why this album does not get 5 stars. Released after their most popish album, "Sparks in Out Space", this album sounds similar. Its best tracks are "Pretending to be Drunk" and "Progress". I already had the album on vinyl, so I was pleasantly surprised to find 5 bonus tracks, 12" remixes of songs on the album.
Sparks, like coffee or beer, is an acquired taste. If you get hooked, this is a must-have album.
