    Life can be wonderful if you do good and remain positive

    The principal character in this movie, George Bailey (James Stewart), is the sort of person who constantly puts himself out for others. Whereas as a young man, he has dreams and ambitions of touring the world, leaving his home town, and engaging in construction when he returns, events in his family keep him at home, and he foregoes opportunities to achieve his dreams so that others might benefit. He goes through life doing good, but fate does not always favour him. Eventually, through no fault of his own, the business he manages is brought to the brink of bankruptcy, and George is overcome with despair. He contemplates suicide. But an angel takes him through a review of his life to show him what a difference he has made in the lives of many. George realises he is not a failure, especially when citizens of the town rally to rescue him & his family.
