RFI make good equipment. So many variables encompass signal & it's attenuation. Being in the country, one tolerates slow digital response or gives up & continues with real life. I've had 3G, (CDQ2195, Col 2199) & now 4G omni directionals, base stations & yagi "s, though some of these are ground plane independent, experiments with metal still amend an independent antenna - in my perception.
