Pretty good product after set up.
It is working fine, although I have Roku on another TV and I like the remote better than this model. This one doesn't have the OK in the middle of the arrows, but down below so things are slower, especially when you have to type in password and email on your TV screen. Otherwise it seems to work fine so far. Also, no connection cable was included so I had to wait a couple of weeks for the HDMI cable to arrive.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Just what I wanted!
The Roku 2 models are easy to use and support the "Instant Replay" feature. Click the Instant Replay button and the video backs up seven seconds and turns on Closed Captions for that interval. It's perfect for us. I can't stand Closed Captions and the GF is slightly hard-of-hearing. The Roku 3 models come with a different remote that doesn't support Instant Replay, and the lower Roku 2 models don't support 1080i HD video out. Roku 2 XS Digital HD Media Streamer = Don't buy this
This machine constantly reboots itself at random times. I've not been able to watch a complete movie without this box crashing. I thought I did enough research on this thing but apparently not. Upon further research I discovered this box has had this issue for years. Having no cable tv, I was relying on this thing to work. Save your money folks, honestly. Update: Seems like this box has stopped failing. I unplugged it for a couple days because I was disgusted with this thing. So, I plugged it back in to give it one more chance. It may be cheap, but it comes at a worse cost.
While it may have performed great when it was first released, it does not meet the expectations of a streaming device now a days. While you may be tempted by the price, I would say it’s not worth it. As it’s performance is mediocre at best, and many apps have be discontinued, so their out of date and don’t support many modern features. Such as profile support on Netflix, something which really ruffled my feathers. Overall, while the price is tempting, what’s the point of saving money if you don’t enjoy using the thing? Just save up a couple of extra bones and go for a roku 3, fire stick, or Apple TV 3. I love this Roku box
I had a Amazon Firestick, & was not impressed at all. I had a monthly charge just to use the Firestick, & that is not the case with my Roku. My Roku 2 XS also can be used either wirelessly, or with an ethernet cable. I use a Ethernet cable as I was having trouble getting a wireless signal in the area of the house where the Roku box is located. Love this thing!
I bought this XS when it first came out years ago for my bedroom and it's still working great. I bought one for my parents who are in their seventies and they use it all the time to my surprise. Mostly for Netflix. I just recently bought a second one for my living room. I bought the same XS model because I know it works great and the price was much cheaper than the newer ones. ROKU 2 XS does well with old or new TV connections, but a bit slower and some of the streaming stations no longer supported by it.
Got this ROKU 2 XS in mail with all in good shape including the jack to 3 RCA cable for connecting to my old big box TV which is why I wanted this model. It works fine with a sharp picture on the old rear projection TV. Seems to be a fair bit slower than the newer ROKU receivers in calling up channels and it is unable to now receive a few of the channels that the newer ROKU receivers can get since the old ROKU 2 no longer supported by updates (I assume that is why anyway.) Good for older TVs
I have an old TV, so this product works well for it. I knew it would work because I have the same Roku on two other TVs that don't have USB ports - yes, they are THAT old!. I bought the other two Rokus new, not used. Since this is a secondary TV, I didn't want to spend the money on a new one. This used Roku works just fine, but the remote that it came with didn't work, even when I put new batteries in. I guess that's why it was so inexpensive.
