SynopsisJoe, Sam, and Fred have been thrown back in time yet again. This time the Trio find themselves whisked by The Book from a basketball court in Brooklyn to the main ring ball court in Chichén Itzá, Mexico. The year is 1000 a. d. and the rules are a little different. Now the boys are playing for their lives with the Mayan High Priest as their opponent. Will they be able to get home before they learn the true meaning of a sudden death penalty? Illustrated by Adam McCauley.
A delightful read and opportunity to learn more about history
The original Time Warp Trio series by Jon Sciescka is a delightful read for my grandsons and me. The boys have enjoyed the compelling mis-adventures of the characters. I've loved seeing their interest in history sparked. The boys have delighted in the author's clever and amusing use of dialogue and the illustrator's quirky depictions of the action. I've loved how they can't wait for me to read them the next chapter. I purchased every book in the series, and shortly after, the boys made it clear they would like to have the set for their very own. The books are now displayed in a prominent place in their bedroom.
