Great printer at a great price!
We had another model Epson that uses cartridges. It seemed like we were constantly replacing them and they ran out at inopportune times. And, the replacements were not cheap. It also had a bad habit of leaving blobs of ink in the middle of pages that required a lot of head cleaning. We've only had the ET-4700 for a short time, but so far the print quality is fantastic!. It even prints nice looking photos on regular paper. My 17-year-old son set it up in a matter of minutes and enjoyed watching the ink tanks fill. He did not waste a drop. We've not yet had to refill the tanks, so I cannot speak about the expense. We have used the unit to make copies and to scan pictures and everything looks good so far. We got the printer at a very good price and it arrived quickly. So far, it gets a definite two thumbs up!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Printer refusal to turn memory off, is bad technology.
Power On is easy with one button. Power Off is complicated and tedious with reading the small print instructions on the tiny screen with various buttons to press in a certain sequence. If I forget to specify the number of pages to print, the printer automatically prints ALL of the pages, and If I can stop the printer from wasting ink and paper, when I turn the printer back on, the MEMORY takes the printing sequence back to the first page to start over again - which I absolutely DO NOT WANT. I even tried unplugging the cord for a few minutes, but when plugged back in, the VERY UNDESIRABLE MEMORY SEQUENCE did not go away, and the printer again started printing with Page 1, Page 2, etc. until I could get the printer to turn off. THIS IS EXTREMELY BOTHERSOME, AS WELL AS WASTEFUL OF INK!!!!!! For this reason alone, I will NEVER RECOMMEND this Epson Eco Tank ET-4700 All-in-One Supertank Printer for anyone to buy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice printer
I've only had it a few days so I can't speak to how durable this printer is but I really like it so far. It's relatively easy to set up, instructions are pretty specific. Ink loading is about as un-messy as it can get with a tank printer. Comes with loads of features that you'd expect from a printer at this price. Print from anywhere with a few software updates. Comes with a complete fill up of ink. Ink is also pretty cheap in the bottles here on eBay. The Epson ET-4700 arrived in excellent condition ahead of schedule. I set it up in an hour, using downloaded software from my Mac. The printer produces excellent copies, photos, and scans. This Epson printer far exceeds the HP All-In-One I had. It's easier to manage everything I need to do and produces beautiful products. It's faster doing prints and scans than the HP All-In-One. The ECO tanks are very simple to install and much more economical than the HP All-In-One cartridges. I tried the HP subscription service but that caused problems when my black ink went dry and I didn't receive a replacement cartridge from HP so I went to the store and bought a new cartridge but HP would not allow me to use it since I was on a subscription service. Best ink jet printer!
Set up was easy. The ink bottles were easy to fill the ink tanks with no mess. Sensors in each ink well won't allow the ink to overflow. It comes with a CD to load the software. There is a firmware upgrade to download. You can connect to a LAN network cable or connect wireless to you wifi network. You can set up as a fax if you have a telephone line. It does not come with a printer connection cable. The paper loads from the back of the printer, no paper tray to load. It has a flat bed scanner and can use the document loader in the lid. The bottle inks can be bought in a set as cheap as buying a single ink cartridge . You get all the ink bottles you need in the box. I had a Cannon and HP printers in the past as well as a Brother laser printer and the picture quality of this Epson printer beats them all. Overall good printer.
Set up was a little difficult but manageable. The screen on the front is small so the directions are hard to read. Print qualty so far is good. Not sure how long the ink will last but we shall see.
