Alexander Graham Bell, a culture changer
The Story of Alexander Graham Bell is an excellent film. The acting is excellent, and the story is an important part of our cultural history, There are some elements in this movie that are probably not common knowledge, and they're interesting to know. The story takes place in a time when life was much simpler. "Being there" can help us to appreciate much of what we take for granted today, and it can also give us an appreciation of a simpler life. So much in culture changed with the introduction of the telephone. It's good for us to see what it was like BEFORE the telephone. Today, if we forget our cell phone, or have to do without it for even part of our day, we feel a distinct void. Not that long ago there were NO CELL PHONES, and we got by. No big deal. The telephone certainly made communication easier & convenient. It certainly came in handy for practical things, but it also added to the time we spent just chatting over relatively unimportant things. Appreciation of a simpler life ocould lead us to make some needed changes in our own life, even if it's just to be thankful for the comforts of our day. I highly recommend this movie for these reasons, and many more.
