Works great. You connect your fibre to it, insert it in the SFP socket on your switch and boom - it just works, synced to 1Gb. I bought this because I got a USW-Aggregation switch to connect some other equipment with, but since the Aggregation switch is SFP+ 10Gb and the switch it needed to go through to be adopted was only SFP 1Gb, it won't auto-negotiate the connection down to 1Gb automatically over a DAC cable because you need to set this on the SFP+ side manually. This issue doesn't affect fibre or Ethernet module connections, so since I had some spare multimode fibre and these modules were available cheap, I figured I'd get some to use as required to configure gear like this. 1Gb negotiated like a charm. Forced the port speed, connected my switch, adopted my USW-Aggregation and all was happy in the world.Read full review
