I have used Tamiya masking tape for quite some time and I am impressed with its ability to make perfect paint lines. No bleed-by and, given that this tape is very thin, I can actually see through it well enough to follow traced pencil lines. Also, because it's so thin, it doesn't yield high paint edges. Masking tape is THE prime ingredient for a great paint job -- my experience is that five minute's worth of painting is preceded by at least an hour's worth of taping. So I use the best tape I can find -- and I believe that tape is Tamiya tape. I would not use any other tape … (The 6 mm tape is my mainstay …)
