Product works but required a lot of alterations to install
The Radiator arrived quickly and well packed and in good condition. And in the end, it is working well. Unfortunately these are the only good things I can report and I know those are good things. However the fit and some of the assembly of this part are very bad making it an unnecessarily difficult install. Starting with the top tabs that hold the "clip-on nuts" and the 2 top mounting points only had a single tack weld on them, making them vulnerable to breaking off. I'm thinking this was a manufacturing mistake that was not caught in QC because all of the tabs and mounting points on the bottom have 2 tack welds. The other problem with all the tabs that should hold clip-on nuts is that they are twice the thickness as the OEM radiator tabs. This would seems to be a good thing (thicker is stronger) until you try to slide on one of the clip-on nuts, they just won't. This leaves you with 3 choices, order new clip-on nuts that can handle the thicker material, try to bend the original ones to except the thicker tab (with out breaking them) or grind/file the tabs thinner. The placement of all these tabs and mounting points was not horrible but just bad enough to make you have to bend things, like the fan mounting bracket, just to get them to work. And getting the 2 top mounting point with the rubber damper bushing to line up to the frame mounting points required some bending, and with only a single tack weld on these it was nerve-racking to say the least. Next problem was that the lower radiator hose mount was not rotated inward, it only is bent downward. Now my body panel on the left side is pushing up against that radiator hose. Speaking of the body panels, there are 2 body panel mounting points on this radiator. It was particularly difficult to aline these and in the end I had to drill a new hole in one of the mounting points to make it work. And finally the threaded port for the temperature sensor was not machined properly. It leaked because on the sensor there is an O-ring shelf to keep the O-ring from dropping on to the threads. This shelf bottomed out on the threaded port and stopped the O-ring from sealing this port. I'm lucky that I had the tools and skill to solve these problems and it took far too many hours to get this thing to work. This could have been a serious challenge for someone with little mechanical experience and only a basic set of tools. I know that a OEM radiator is ridiculously expensive (if you can even find one). So maybe this type of replacement radiator is the only option (financially, it was for me). I just want to share my experiences so if you do buy one of these you can be a little more prepared for the job.
