Love this Modem
Okay, first I will say this modem is certainly overkill for me, but I was experiencing a lot of dropouts with my other modem and figured this one could certainly handle it so far all seems well I will update if this changes. Second I will say I was a little concerned that Best Buy didn't seem to ship as quickly as I thought, but the speed they selected was insane, so it arrived on time. All is well! Third, and probably at least importance to most tech heads, this modem is the most aesthetically pleasing I've seen.. I mean the thing looks like it was designed by Lockheed Martin... Capable of faster speed.
Comcast recommends an upgrade from my old modem due to it does not have the capability to reach the maximum possible speed of what I paying for. I hesitated for months until my modem started acting up for no reason. It keeps on losing connection where I had to restart the modem to correct it. I alsohad a netgear but it can only go up to 1000 Mbps. I chose this one because it can go up to 2.5 Gbps. My connection speed has never been up over 1000 Gbps even with this new modem. I supposed to have up to 1200 but since it is a cable company and with neighbors using the same provider we are all fighting for the internet. It is just good to have a capability to go higher if time comes. I hope this will last longer, it ain’t cheap. The security as far parental control, it is not free. Overall, I would recommend this one. No phone line connection, no wifi, just modem itself. I can say that I like it since it is new and no issues yet.
