I am a Jodi Picoult fan, and, have always waited with anticipation to buy the first edition of all her books, but, "A Spark of Light" was a huge disappointment for me. For the first time reading her work, I found it "too busy with too many characters" in the beginning, plus I found it a huge distraction that she chose to work backwards with the time frame. I found myself continually trying to work out where and who the character was in present time and it did not flow for me like all her other work. Like all her books, the subject choice is confronting and soul searching but I could not warm to any of the characters. Still a fan of Ms Picoult but not of this book, and I will put it on my 2nd read list in maybe 12 months to see if I can warm to it any better.
