  • The real thing.

Compelling real life account of submarine warfare by one of the few U-Boat commanders to survive the war from start to finish. U-Boat service was horrible under the best of conditions, much worse than WWll American subs with a much higher mortality rate. Werner pulls no punches about daily life at sea. I served on a diesel and the nucs were an exponentially better life.
