First off, spring compressors can be dangerous if the process is not completely understood and used with respect of the tool. These are be best suited for small to medium size cars, and some larger passenger/family vehicles on a pinch. I had no issues with them at all (small car), plus having a rattle gun to most of the brute work for you and speed things up (versus using a hand spanner) helped a lot. Take your time with jobs like these apply compression evenly and slowly and you won't have an issue.

Not fantastic quality but does the trick for average job in the shed, wouldn't go too heavy with them but fine on bike or car.

Very good basic set of clamps. A lot heavier duty than I was expecting. Even looks like it has a 1/2" drive in the end of the hex head, but I only noticed once I was packing them away.

Fine for car springs but not for 4x4 springs. They worked but the thread was damaged first time using them. The washers fired off like bullets when they broke. Cheap though
