Bearings can be taken with accuracy to within half a degree. The compass has a luminous graduation ring and markings for compass reading in the dark. 6400 mils on the graduation ring and 6400 mils + 360 degrees on the sighting scale.

This compass has the general usefulness of a Silva 1-2-3 baseplate model combined with the accuracy of a sighting model. Also, thank you to Windchill for their quick replies to my requests and help in fixing a problem of my own making.

Best price I have found for this compass anywhere. The compass is what it is, and that's essentially the best military centered compass on the market, especially one with prismatic capability.
