Cheaper than replacing the whole lock.
I decided to get the 4 pack of Actuator Repair Kits as I have had this type of door fault previously. On 2 previous occasions I have had to replace the entire door locks. This time the lock would sometimes lock successfully, other times it would leave the car vulnerable. It has been happening on and off since Xmas 2022 (it's now May 2023).The white plastic spindle was not broken this time, it seems the motor was getting old, just not powerful enough. When I bench-tested the old motor with 12 volts, I was able to stop it rotating with my fingers. The motor in this new kit nearly burnt my fingers with the friction when I tried to stop it. I used the remainder of the items in one of the four Kits as an added precaution, using a bit of Vaseline for lubrication where the spindle mates with the other pieces. It's been in the car 8 days now. I check that door every time I lock the car. No complaints with this. The car is presently getting its Pink Slip, I couldn't take the chance that it would fail because of the defective door lock.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Relatively easy to install once you get the hang of it, just take plenty of photos on your phone as you disassemble the actuator. There is also a YouTube video showing how to change them. Easy to do if ur just a little mechanical!
Got the Ford door lock actuator repair kit took a total of 20 minutes to fix my door. Having never done 1 before I was a little unsure but a few screws later all was good found the broken gear replaced it put it back together and in the door now my car locks properly.
