But then a millionaire s daughter moves into the next-door mansion, an old miser hides a fortune in his decrepit house, and a runaway kid starts hiding out in Sleepyside ", Thirteen-year-old Trixie Belden and her friends search for hidden treasure in a mysterious mansion owned by an old miser.
This is the first book in the Trixie Belden series. I never read these as a young person. A friend told me about them and I read and loved the whole series. The kids in these books are great role models for any kid. Their relationships to each other and their community, their sense of fairness and responsibility are admirable. They are also fun loving and adventurous. The stories harken back to a simpler day but are still relevant for today. I highly recommend this book and the whole series for any young person who enjoys reading.
