  • Serious collection of short Polish films which cover the 10 Commandments

A classic which belongs in the Criterion Collection. My mind constantly hurts, thinking about which Euro-wonders the director could have brought us, if he chose to stay with us another dozen or 18 years. Instead, he constantly went on record, saying his intention was to smoke himself to death as soon as possible. Mostly unrecognizable Polish actors acting in 10 shorter films (10-40 minutes each), illustrating the 10 Commandments which form the backbone of Catholicism. The films are generously described as "not linear" or "not obvious," but analysis eventually will hit upon the specific Commandment which was violated. In Polish or French with English subtitles, probably other language subs; don't know if other spoken lingua are available.
