Carry On Up The Harris
For Sharpe fans only I would imagine, but an interesting insider’s view of how a classic series was made on a budget, whilst many ( now famous stars) actors went in and out of the cast , a mixture of hedonism and hardship for most concerned.
Throughout though there’s a sense of camaraderie amongst the chosen men, despite often being treated worse than the extras (and horses) on set.
Although I guess ITV won’t make any more Sharpe series ( not least because they killed off the chosen men, save Harper, at Waterloo), those of us that enjoyed watching it will enjoy reading this affectionate reflection on those days, behind the scenes.
