About this product

Product Information

Based on an actual Civil War incident, The Horse Soldiers tells the rousing tale of a troop of Union soldiers who force their way deep into Southern territory to destroy a rebel stronghold at Newton Station. In command is hardbitten Colonel Marlowe (John Wayne), a man who is strikingly contrasted by the company's gentle surgeon(Holden) and the beautiful but crafty Southern belle (Constance Towers) who's forced to accompany the union raiders on perhaps the most harrowing mission in the war.

    Marvelous Movie

    Great western by a marvelous actor John Wayne. No good in the early roles that's because he did as he was told. He's latest movies did him honor when he got older. War and western movies suited him more than love movies he did well in action that gave him a great reputation. Searchers was one of my favorites than there was a lot of others Big Jake but the Soldiers would take the cake. I would give this movie an A grade plus, Worth watching even as old as it is, there's just something about it.
