Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy Chick Corea CD
Early 1970's electric fusion music CD. After his stint with Miles Davis and the early incarnations of Return to Forever with Flora Purim and Airto Moreira,Mr Corea slips into an all electric band with some very notable musicians. This line up would only last for a brief amount of time,before expanding his available keyboards,adding Mr. Al Dimeola and creating longer compositions for exploration. I am a fan of guitarist Mr. Bill Connors,his playing on this session is superb and is the only 'RTF' disc that displays his amazing guitar,before he moved on and Chick would replace him with the aforementioned Mr. Dimeola. Interestingly, months after this session,RTF bassist Stanley Clarke would release his first solo album with superb support from guitarist Mr. Bill Connors,keyboard wizard (Mahavishnu Orchestra) Mr.Jan Hammer and the legendary drummer Tony Williams. A true classic
This music can easily offend some people, but if you understand music and know how breakdown what the musicians are trying to do you will know that this is a CLASSIC.
