Deep Star Six Will keep you out of the water for at least a week It's another great underwater thriller that plays out like Leviathan. I like Leviathan a lot more but Deep Star Six offers up enough chills and thrills to make all fans of horror happy. Final Verdict: 4/5 Rent or buy?: If you like underwater horror films this one is a must buy. If you're just looking for a good scare Deep Star Six will deliver. This movie was made around 1979. It shows a laboratory under the ocean that is very real. They don't make a lot of movies like this because I don't think 'The Powers that be' want us to think to much about how many underground cities they have under the ocean today, for themselves, in case a huge catastrophic event happened up here. They prefer we focus on Space aliens instead of aliens that may be dwelling under the sea!! The movie is done very well, and moves at an exciting pace. I will not tell you what it is about so you can enjoy it for yourself. It is pretty scary at times, and will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.
I bought this movie for someone else but decided to watch it to check out the quality of the tape. I really liked the characters, esp. Greg Evigan (McBride) and Miguel Ferrer (Snyder) who played such polar opposites of each other. There was really some scary and exciting moments and at one point I shut my eyes to avoid looking at all that blood. I rated it Good but I would have rated it Excellent if the special effects had been better.
This is one of my old favorites. I would reccommend this movie to anyone who likes a good thriller. It will keep you on the edge of your seat at times.
