I bought the gold version of the disc because i sold the regular version by accident, I thought unforgettable was one of the reissued masters but it is not and there's no immediate plans for this to be reissued or remastered so having figured it was a plan from GOD for me to get the gold version. Mainly i bought the gold because the price was right it wasn't much more than about the original price when this label was in business and active somewhere about 1999 or 2000 it went out of business alot of people didn't go for the 20$-30$ price tag thinking the sound wasn't that much better...i won't argue with them but i think only a musician's ear can tell i'll tell you briefly there's seperation, peaks and lows heard on the gold that's not heard on the regular releases...i would buy all the U2 cds on gold but unfortunately many of them are priced too high mainly due to the supply and demand laws...although the reissues are very good and much improved from the original issues which were from analog, but it's not bad either, analog has that sweet sound too, digital can be harsh, it really depends on who remasters the discs, there's plenty who don't do a good job and there are those who do a good job...just like anything.Read full review
I’ve always love this album, and when I had the opportunity to pick up the MFSL version, I jumped on it. Excellent sound quality!
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
I like this album, because it's of one of the greatest bands there ever was. It's a lot compared to others that are also of 24K gold CDs. It being on a 24K gold CD, you won't find very many of brand-new and factory-sealed. I would recommend a CD such as this. You won't regret it. You got nothing to lose.
1983 (not 1995, as stated above) -- in a time where the threat of nuclear war was on the minds of many, internal battles throughout parts of Ireland (where the band is from), and other wrong-doings in the world, awareness is brought through great music. This album has very high emotion and heart-pounding rock and roll through songs like "Exit", "Pride" and many others.
If there was any rock albums in history that deserve the gold treatment its Irish band U2's catalog canon between 1983-1991. In 1984's "The Unforgettable Fire" reissued for MFSL ULTRADISC II 1995 the sound and spectrum is emmense itense and enourmously supersonic sounding in every possible way. There are other outhere that cut the mustard but when it comes to this ultrasonic headphone experience, what can be better than this.
One of the top U2 albums a very spiritual album and on this format is perfect, i would recommend to everybody.
